Who was your favourite teacher? Who stole your lunch money? Who was your biggest crush, and did you ever tell them?

Or what are the biggest lessons you’ve learned since in the University of Life?

Are you a fond rambler, explorer or adventurer? Tell us of your frolics, whether it be trekking across mountains, or scaling the heights of the nearest NCP car park – we want to hear it all!

Join the Facebook event for more info, or find out more about the Bristol Festival of Literature on their website.

What is your most memorable meal? When you cooked for the first time? How you accidentally gave your first love food poisoning? Is it a treasured memory of learning how to bake from your granny, or maybe a meal shared on your travels?

Whether you have a story to share or just want to listen, join us in celebrating our 3rd birthday with songs, sweets, games, and of course, CAKE!

Entry is free, plus we’ll be giving out sweets, cake & other birthday paraphernalia (feel free to bring us a card or a present…), and all storytellers will get a free drink, how nice is that eh?

Join us for our first event of 2016 and tell us about your ambitions, poorly thought out resolutions and general ill-advised attempts at self help or reinvention.

What did you want to be when you grew up? Are you too shallow for a meditation retreat? Too drunk to do Dryanuary? Or maybe you actually realised your dreams and achieved something amazing – we want to hear it all!

Entry is FREE, all storytellers get a FREE DRINK and you all get FREE SWEETIES for being bloody lovely.

Oooh ooh, and if you’re needing a double fix of us in March, come see us for the Bristol Seed Swap at Feed Bristol on Sat 5th March – we’ll be doing our usual mix of storytelling, music & games alongisde some green-fingered folks who will be giving talks, sharing cake and of course swapping seeds.

Hurrah!

Thursday 3rd December – Tell us a Christmassy story!

storymerrychristmas2

Can you believe we’ve never done a Christmas show? Well that’s about to change!

Don your worst festive attire and bring your best tales of holiday cheer (or tell us about that awful thing you did at the office party) – of course you can tell us a story, sing us a song or read us a poem about anything you like; the Christmassy theme is optional!

There will be medals for the best stories, and maybe we can even stretch to some mince pies and pass around a carton of egg nog.

Free entry, and a free drink for all storytellers, as per.

‘Tis the season to tell stories, fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la!

Friday 25th September – Our 2nd birthday party!

Will in his traditional folk garb

Unbelievably, it’s been two years since we first lit up the stage of the very new (so new in fact, that it didn’t even have its license yet) Crofters Rights, and in that time we’ve met lots of people, heard some incredible stories and been treated to an array of weird and wonderful songs from Will.

Join us on the 25th September for an extra special night of storytelling – in addition to all the usual sweets, medals and shenanigans we’ll also have some special prizes, party tat and maybe even cake!

Pete Sutton reads his chilling story to our extensive audience

We’re really proud of the fun & supportive community we’ve created in the past 24 months, and it’s been amazing to see so many of you start off as nervous first-timers and then go on to be regular performers across the writing circuit, so hopefully you can make it along to celebrate with us.

Bring your best stories about birthdays, parties and celebrations – or just tell us about your best experiences at Let Me Tell You a Story, Jack! (it can’t just be us getting all nostalgic). As usual all storytellers get a free drink.

Facebook event (if that’s your thing) – www.facebook.com/events/1658212924414079/1668393516729353/
